Our Mission

We study childhood. Then we build things that matter.

Better Brain Academy started with a simple observation: children learn best when they're doing something real. Not watching. Not swiping. Not completing a fill-in-the-blank. Doing. Making. Creating. Talking about what they made.

Every product we make, starting with Read & Paint, has one job.

Help children fall in love with learning. Not through pressure. Not through achievement. Not through test scores. Through curiosity. Through creativity. Through reading. Through conversation. Through making. Through play.

We believe childhood should include more reading, more creating, more imagining, more building, more wondering, and more making things with your hands. Those aren't hobbies. They're habits. And habits become lives.

We read the research. We learn from teachers. We learn from parents. We test ideas. Then we build products that encourage the kinds of habits we want children to carry into adulthood.

The Manifesto

Ten Things We Believe

Not marketing copy. A declaration. This is the foundation for everything we build — the website, the products, the fundraisers, the way we talk to schools and families.

01

We believe curiosity is more valuable than memorization.

02

We believe reading changes lives.

03

We believe creativity should be practiced, not admired.

04

We believe children deserve fewer screens and more imagination.

05

We believe learning should feel like discovery.

06

We believe families build brains together.

07

We believe childhood habits become adult identities.

08

We follow evidence wherever it leads.

09

We build products around principles, not trends.

10

Better brains build a better world.

Wherever You're Starting From

This site is written for every kind of parent who finds their way here. Pick the door that sounds like you.

"My child doesn't love reading."

You're not alone — and it's not your child's fault. When reading leads somewhere exciting, children show up for it. Our kits make reading the gateway to something they can't wait to do: create something with their own hands.

"I want less screen time, more real time."

So do we. Every kit is designed to fill an afternoon with reading, painting, and conversation — no Wi-Fi required. Not because screens are bad, but because children also need experiences that are irreducibly physical and relational.

"I'm looking for something meaningful — not just another toy."

Our kits aren't consumed in five minutes and forgotten. The book goes on the shelf. The painting goes on the wall. The memory stays. These are experiences that become part of a family's story.

"I'm a teacher or school looking for programming."

We work with schools through fundraising, classroom integration, and after-school programs. Every program is built on the same research and the same philosophy as our consumer products.
